Consumer Report

Vip auto installed a fuel pump and assembly because my vehicle repeatedly "shut down" while in use at least twice a day. Vip auto assured me that it was not the fuel pump relay or the auto shut-down that I had read in owners manual. My '97 Dodge caravan continued to shut-down since fuel pump installation. Speaking with the sales associate about this, Amy, the sales associate, who recommended the pump replacement, told me that I didn't ask for a fuel pump diagnostic test. She did not offer this option at the beginning. I depend on professional advice and service as I am not an auto technician. She would not re-emburse the labor cost, said she did not know the phone number of corporate services, and ignored me when I told her that I was charged for an auto part that was not needed. My vehicle is still shutting down and I can not continue paying mechanics to"guess"what the malfunction could be. When this problem first occurred in february of this year the first auto repair I went to, told me it was a starter issue. No way! My vehicle's starter turned with much power. I had a free starter check, and the starter checked fine. Vacume hoses replaced, fuel filter installed, nothing has worked, does any mechanic know? Or am I just another sucker waitng to be fleeced. Frustrated in Milford...!
