A guy claiming to be a Fresno State communications student named Alex came knocking on our apartment door around 8pm and pitched the "I'm raising money to go blah and blah... I'm selling magazine subscriptions as a fundraiser... Here's a list of them." He was a real smooth talker... He had done this before. I ordered two subscriptions (one for the donation part that goes to kids in a hospital and one for myself) After the guy left, something didn't feel right so we looked up the company and sure enough, this company is ALLLL over this site! I managed to put a stop payment on the check right away and then called my bank in the morning and got a new check book number assigned so if this guy or anyone tried to use my checking account with the numbers on that check it would come up as account closed. I also sent copies of the receipts along with a notice of cancellation to the address via certified mail (requiring a signature of whoever is at that address)
