Virtual PC Docto
Consumer Report

An elderly client in Australia signed up with Virtual PC Doctor to "maintain" her computer. She paid them around $400.00. Some months later she received a phone call telling her that they had found problems with her PC and that it needed to be "cleaned". She let them take control over her computer to fix this problem. A few weeks later she noticed that a number of amounts had been taken out of her credit card account. These amounts overdrew the account. She then received phone calls saying that the business had closed down and wanted her card details to refund the amount. She told them to send her a cheque. She then over a period of some weeks received numerous threatening phone calls saying that "we have $3,500 of your money and we are going to take out more" The money had been transferred out of her account into Bangladeshi currency.
The matter was reported to the NSW police and her bank has fortunately refunded the money.
These people are not only SCAM MERCHANTS but made threatening phone calls to an 80 year old women and caused her great stress.
