My wife Marny and I returned from Beijing, China on Air China flight 991, April 3. Flight 991 was one hour forty minutes late departing Beijing. As a result we missed our Westjet connecting flight 210 which departed at 2:30 PM despite the fact we had allowed two hours and fourty minutes for transfer in Vancouver. Air China 991 was to arrive at 11:50 AM but was delayed until 1:30 PM. The delay did not allow us to collect our luggage, clear customs, change terminals and board Westjet flight 210 at 2:30 PM. As a result we had to reschedule to Westjet 194 at 5:00 PM and were charged a $50.00 per person change fee for a total of $100.
I contacted Air China customer service requesting compensation for their delay. They refused to respond positively to my request.
