I responded to an advert for a free trial product for Bellagenix face cream and Veloura face cream. I paid $4.95 each to cover the cost of postage. There was no mention in the advert of an obligation to accept automatic follow-on orders or that a payment would automatically be deducted for the full cost of the product as soon as it was shipped.
When I received the product, the covering letter informed me that I could cancel the whole transaction by informing the company either by email or by phone that I wished to return the products and cancel any further orders.
I followed their instructions, informed them by email and received a RMA returned merchandise number for each item - sent the items straight back and obtained tracking numbers for them from the post office. I have now been charged $99.99 for these products even though I informed the company of all actions taken and gave explicit instructions that the company did not have my authorisation to access my bank account and withdraw monies.
How should I proceed to recover the unauthorised payments taken from my bank account?
Kind regards
