2009 F 150 with 74200. Miles Jumped timing, service department stated that metal fragments resulting from that incident could leave metal shavings resulting in engine failure. Could leave to further engine failure. May need to replace engine. Reported Camshaft failure. Now reporting no metal fragments seen in oil.
Spoke with warrenty company they stated engine replacement would be covered under warrenty along with rental car. On the 5th day received verification of that they finally spoke with the company providing the extended warrenty and that engine replacement would be covered and rental car was also covered. Ford service department had phoned me stating that they had spoke with warrenty company on march 29th. Warrenty company stated they had not been notified until April 2nd. Regaurding my claim. On April 3rd recieved rental car at no cost for upgrade. After being told of furture engine damage caused by metal fragment resulting in the jump of timing they are refusing to replace the engine even though it is covered under the extended warrenty. This will leave me with a 12 month or 12000 mile coverage. If engine failure occurs after that peroid the replacement of the engine will be at my full cost.
