Was contacted by a Rep from Winsolvesupport that identified himself as being with Microsoft and my computer had been identified as having malware installed in it. Unfortunately I fell for this and let them access my computer to install antivirus and antimalware products which they did do. The payment for this service was from my credit card and was processed through a Mo address. On Monday a gentleman from another city in this state called me as he had been contacted by the same company and in the process of "checking his computer for viruses" my information kept popping up on a Western Union form. He thought I was trying to hack his computer, so he kept typing over the info, in fact the Rep from Winsolvesupport called him and said he should stop tampering with it. At that point he terminated contact with them, and called me Teusday 4/2 to alert me to the Western Union transfer. I immediately checked my bank act and indeed someone had submitted a funds transfer request from my act, using my info, for $308.00. I cancelled this through the bank and Western Union, and was lucky enough to get this money back.in addition I have had to cancel my bank card and change all personal passwords, and have no intention of using that laptop again until it can be checked locally by a reputable co for malware. I am also awaiting paperwork to complete with the police dept's Internet fraud division. Obviously, at the very least, I would like my 159.00 refunded and terminate all contact with this company.
