Consumer Report

Placed ad to sell car and Wayne Brunkow bought it on 3/29 using the "Buy It Now" feature on Ebay. We exchanged email on 3/29 & 3/30. Spoke by phone to arrange payment the morning of 3/30. I requested cash & Wayne Brunkow said his bank was closed. I reminded Wayne Brunkow that it was 11 am and that the bank was still open. Wayne Brunkow said he needed another way to pay. I became suspicious and told Wayne Brunkow pay me via Pay Pal. Wayne Brunkow told me he did not have computer access so Pay Pal wasn't possible but in the next breath Wayne Brunkow asked that I send him my home address via e-mail. I became even more uncomfortable at this point and questioned his supposed lack of computer access. Wayne Brunkow stated that it really did not matter because he was paying me cash. I sent the email to Wayne Brunkow and within minutes Wayne Brunkow called to say he checked his safe and would be picking up the vehicle in an hour. Upon his arrival, Wayne Brunkow and another guy looked at the car and said it was very nice. Wayne Brunkow asked to test drive it down the street without me in car so his son could speak freely. I agreed to this request. Upon their return after more than 15 minutes, Wayne Brunkow comes out of car asking if I was aware of a problem with the rear lift-gate window wiper/washer switch assembly on the dashboard. I said there was no problem and asked him where he went and why it took so long. He got huffy, reopened door, reached in and pulled the switch away from dash with his fingers. I looked and saw that the fastener clips were now broken off on the back of the switch. Obviously, I was not happy because this problem did not exist before their lengthy road trip. I indicated that this switch was not cheap especially with install and Wayne Brunkow chuckled and said it shouldn't cost much. I told Wayne Brunkow that unless either one of us was in the auto repair business we really do not know what the would be. I asked Wayne Brunkow point blank, "are you in the auto repair business because he made mention that the safe was in his shop. Wayne Brunkow told me that the answer was no. That is when the situation gets even worse. Wayne Brunkow indicates that the switch was already broken and that he is not paying anything, including the purchase price of the car. I told Wayne Brunkow that he already bought it and that I expect to be paid in full. Wayne Brunkow handed me my keys and started walking to the car that he came in. I told Wayne Brunkow that I was contacting ebay to open a unpaid item case because he had violated ebay's unpaid item policy and to complain about the whole experience. Afterwards, I found that my rear lift-gate window washer is not working. The button for this washer just happens to be on the switch that is was pulled away from my dash by Wayne Brunkow. Afterwards, I did some research on Wayne Brunkow. Here to find out Wayne Brunkow does indeed have a well advertised auto repair shop at 15360 Brush Creek Road, Wamego KS 66547. I sent ebay two emails lodging complaints but I can't open a unpaid item case with the ebay's resolution service center until April 1 due to a ebay policy. Also, the ad is automatically placed in a state of limbo until I get paid. To add insult to injury, ebay has a re-listing fee. My cost when I relist, if I relist with them is above $100.00. This horrible experience is a true crime. Please do something to protect others from Wayne Brunkow and Brunkow Garage. These are predators.
