I purchased a 2000 Mercury Sable that constantly set a P0301 DTC. Replaced plugs and wires, still had the same code. Took it to my shop and found the engine was not original and had a cracked cylinder head.
Carhop does not fully service their vehicles prior to selling then. Also found the cars they do sell come from various auction supply houses and have various mechanical and DOL brands that are state the car has been rebuilt and odometers altered..
