Huge scam!!!
I recieved a call telling me I had been entered into a Million Dollar Sweepstakes. I agreed to sign up and was asked to stay on for the full 5 years of the subscription which I also agreed to. However, I was never told I could not cancel, apparantly to them it's an unspoken contract. I tried to cancel multiple times but was told I couldn't and that if I did not pay, my account would be sent to collections and my credit would be ruined. Since the beginning with that company, they have continued to mess up. They were double-billing me for the subscription, they were charging the wrong card and constantly calling to ask me to pay the total up front but assuring me that I would still receieve my magazines if I paid in full. This company is a huge scam, the whole point of calling and telling you about the sweepstakes is to get you to agree to a contract orally. Once they have you saying yes and they have your card number, they will keep charging you for the full $1200. They are horrible and selfish. They choose a lot of young teenagers to target who give their parents' card information and the parents are stuck paying the $1200.
They also refused to answer my questions about how they had gotten my name and personal information. They also refused to send me a copy of my invoice/account and they had the audacity to tell me that they didn't have to show me any proof that they were telling the truth. They said it didn't matter and they didn't have to prove anything to me because I had already agreed to the contract. When I filed a complaint against them through the BBB, they sent back a response saying that I had VOLUNTARILY agreed to make several hundred dollar payments which was grossly false. I only agreed to pay because they threatened to ruin my credit and send my account to collections.
Horrible practices, huge scam!!!
