They have a new way to fleece even more money from there already starving creative base. Musicians.
Guitar center now has a "Handling charge"on all items that are ordered online or by phone. They have been doing online business for years. Why the change?
The"Handling fee"is often more than the actual shipping costs!
Ridiculous and low... I think for me that will be the final straw as they already overprice everything in the store..
When I asked the store manager of one of the locations in Ca, he saud, "we don't do it here in the store, it is done automatically thru the computer".. Of course just another good cop bad cop story. It infuriates me because one can barely get service of any kind at the chain and now when you think you can afford a peice you see online there lowbrow business sleeze sneaks in again..
I bught a drum for 230 used and when they finished with me it was 270!! The handling was more than the cost to ship it. Guitar center has had the same in house shipping it always has and you know the xtra money they are ripping customers off for is not ging to the people over in the shipping dept. I will never deal with them again..
