I was misled by the sales representative of NY Sports Club in Westwood, NJ by saying that my membership will be frozen and would only be charged US$16.70 a month starting 1 April. I agreed because I said I will be overseas on an assignment and it was with the condition that I could use the club as a guest.in August I contacted them saying I will not be able to return to New York because of my work and if they could cancel my membership. They just ignored my request and continued charging me for the rest of the year and was even charged $63.00 beginning of March for a subscription which I never used and which I have asked for cancellation last year. It was evident that the sales representative misled me when I signed the contract last year and did not even explain about the details regarding cancellation after one year. Now, I am told that I would have to continue for another 9 months which is a rip-off and a clear example of misleading the consumer just to earn their sales. I would advise everyone to be wary of NYSC because they like to just get your business without the possibility of withdrawal.
