Jennifer Cruz called to tell me that we had an account sold to them for collections from Yellow Pages Local Directory. I told Jennifer that we NEVER had any service with this company and a complaint was filed against them with the FTC last year. I asked Jennifer for contact information for YPLD and she said she had NO information to give me, they only had my company contact information, an invoice and a recording of verbal authorization from a person who has not worked for our company in 2 years. I told Jennifer this is a fraudulant claim and we will not be paying for this invoice. She insisted on faxing me a copy of the invoice but I refused to give her my fax number. Jennifer said she will fax to the number she had on file for us. I will see what the amount of the claim is and I will file another claim with the Federal Trade Commission to investigate the issue with both companies.
