Wild Blue charges $185 for unreturned, obsolete equipment after telling me to throw it away

After an unprofessional technician came out to my house twice to troubleshoot why my internet wasn't working, I had to call multiple times before he told me that my modem was broken and that wild blue could not get a replacement becuase it was obsolete. He recommended that I upgrade to the new Exceed by wild blue. I upgraded my service after a long conversation where I had to ask them to waive my termination fee and new account set up fees. I was told to just throw the broken equipment in the trash. Soon after, I received multiple letters in the mail saying that I owed wild blue $315 for equipment that I was suppose to send back to them. I called and called and called and spoke to many c/s reps who noted my account with no results. This has been going back and forth since september. It is now Feb. 05 2013 and wild blue has credited me some of the balance but sent $185.00 to a collection agency. All of this after they told me to throw the modem in the trash and then sent me a bill becuase I didnt send it back to them. If you doubt what I am saying, I can post the contact info for the collection agency. All of this is happening as I am paying $60.00 a month for the new Exceed service from wild blue that they installed in my home. I don't think that this is fair! I do have dates and names of the people at wild blue and I was told that notes are in my account that explain what happened and that I will be getting a call back to discuss the matter. I was told this four times since september and no one has called or left a message on my cell phone. I sent a letter to wild blue with no response, sent a letter to the BBB -who have responded, and I sent a letter to the collection agency. My next step is to start a local form of communication in my town to create awareness and help people that may fall prey to the wrongful business practices of wild blue. They have had more than 5 months to call me back to discuss the matter. I called on 9/21, again I called in October, called on 11/24, and again on 12/04. My last conversation was on 1/30 and yet again, a rep apologized for the mishap and explained that I would be taken care of and someone will be touch with me. I have sent a number of emails and never has anyone called me back. I do not have any faith that I will be taken care.
