I received 4 phone calls from 415-952-7351 from someone with a middle eastern accent. The person told me they needed my attorneys name and number. I asked attorney for what and they asked if I had been served with papers to appear from by Sheriffs dept at which point I stated no and then asked what it was about? He then gave a the number (which was the same he called from) and said for me to speak with Micheal Kutter and gave me a case number. I called the number at which time was told that Micheal was not available but he would read me the affidavit but I could not ask questions until he was through, he stated there was 3 charges against my name and ss# from Cash Advance usa charge 1- federal fraud charges 2-collect check fraud (writing bad checks) and 3- deception to steal. When I asked for the amount owed and told him I had no knowledge of this ever happening he hung up on me. Glad I found these other posts informing me that this a fraud. I also called my sheriffs dept since they were the ones to serve me and was told they have no knowledge of this either and do not serve summons for this type of matter. When I told the gentleman that I would contact my sheriffs dept he told it was not necessary they would be coming to me. I thought this was a scam and it turns out to be thanks for the info and letting others know of this scam.
