On 11/17, I sold my 2004 Hyundai Sonata to Mr. Marc Markbreiter of Benchmark Auto Buyers of Long Island for 4,000.00. Due to a title issue, Mr. Markbreiter was willing to work with me to get it resolved and held on to the vehicle. Once he received the title, he sold the vehicle at a higher price without my signature and then told me that once he receives payment, I will be paid in full. Payment arrived the week of 12/10 which he then told me I will receive full payment by the end of that week which started his excuses for not paying me in full. He then started with installments which was never agreed upon. After long extensive phone calls, he would always agree to pay the balance in full on a certain day. Once that day arrived, he would come up with an excuse, i.E. ATM wasn't working, Agent's system was down, there was a car accident, bank accounts were frozen, etc. To date, he still has not paid me in full and still is continuously coming up with excuses. I had told Mr. Markbreiter that I was on disability and needed the money to pay some debt and catch up on bills. His continuous lies has caused me nothing but stress which affected my health and also created more financial problems for me with late and insufficient fund fees.
