Time share deceptive high pressure sales force

I stopped by an information booth near the marina in Cabo, where a very personable fellow gave my wife and me a tip on a nearby restaurant. He asked where I was staying and told him that I had booked a place at the lovely Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach through RCI. He told me that we could get $200 or a dinner cruise for two if we went down to the Mayan Palace near San Jose del Cabo and take alook at the place. I told him that I had plenty of RCI points and wasn't interested in buying any timeshares. He assured me that, since I was already a RCI points owner, all they wanted to do was to treat us to a nice breakfast and then give us a quick tour around the grounds and show us how nice the rooms were and we wouldn't have to go to a 90 minute presentation. He lied! He asked for a $20 dollar deposit to insure my reservation and that we would follow a cab down there to the place on the day we selected.

When we got there, it was a very cool morning and the wind was blowing and we were told to stand in a line OUTSIDE in order to show our ID's and register. My wife was freezing so I told them that she needed to wait inside and if that wasn't possible, we were leaving right then. The guy in charge out there led her inside. After about 15 minutes and being blown away in the cool breeze, I got to the stand and my wife was brought out and they checked our ID's and were asked some other questions before a representative came out and introduced himself and brought inside to a room with some chairs and mall tables. He proceeded to start asking a lot of questions including about our exisiting ownership of RCI points and how much we had paid for them and what the annual maintenance fees were. After doing this, I smiled and told him that frankly that wasn't any of their business and told him what had been promised by the guy at the info booth. He got up and got a supervisor, who came over and was very aggressive and RUDE and said that we had foolishly paid TOO MUCH for what we owned. He said we would learn more at the sales presentation after breakfast. Huh? When the original rep started over, I told him that I had been told that we would be fed a breakfast, shown around the grounds and some of the rooms and we would receive a dinner cruise for two for doing that and NOT HAVE TO GO and listen to a "90 Minute Sales Presentation." He got angry when I said we were getting hungry, but led us into a room where there was a buffet breakfast (that was very tasty) and he joined us and advised us that we had to hurry up and eat in order to go to the presentation. I told him that he hadn't been listening and we weren't going to go to any presentation. He got real angry and said that if we didn't, we wouldn't get our dinner cruise.

At this point, I got mad and told him that I didn't like be lied to and pressured and I didn't give a damn about the cruise if that was what they would give me if I would agree to listen to their high pressure pitch. He got mad and got up and stood there until we finished and then quickly led us to the front door of the place and pointed us to a door to a little room when I asked about the return of my $20 which had been promised.in there, a guy asked if I didn't want my "prize" of a dinner cruise and I told him yes. But not if I had to listen to their sales pitch. He slowly opened a drawer and gave me a $20 bill and we left. WARNING: These Mayan people are everywhere... The airport... At info booths... And on the streets in town. DO NOT believe them or go to their presentation unless you want to be lied to and misled. They are HORRIBLE, RUDE, and CRUDE.
