Complaint / Review
Jeremy London
Actor stole $450 in advance money from a Publishing company for a book about his life he failed to write!

It's very simple: famous actor Jeremy London, star of the Kevin Smith movie Mallrats and popular tv shows 7th Heaven and I'll fly Away, entered into a contract with Sakura Publishing to write about his life. He failed to do this within the time given in his contract.
Sakura Publishing gave him several opportunities to complete his book, including giving him an extension past the April deadline in his original contract to December.in addition to this, Jeremy London was given an advance of exactly $450 dollars that he contractually was obligated to pay back if he failed to produce his book during the contract.
Instead of owing up to his obligations, Jeremy repeatedly apologized for not providing the book and even at one point in an email to Sakura Publishing staff, stated he would pay the money back. So far, he has not made any attempt to make any kind of payment at all to Sakura Publishing.
If this weren't bad enough, he is now ignoring all communication from Sakura Publishing and has chosen to hide from Sakura Publishing his real address so he can not be served court papers.
Sakura Publishing does not want to speculate on why the actor felt it was necessary to avoid working through this issue. Perhaps it is Jeremy London's terrible background with drug usage or his recent abuse of his ex that was in the papers this past year. Sakura Publishing thought perhaps it was because he was broke and had no money to feed himself or possibly his little son Lyric, but the reality is that Jeremy London has just simply chosen to use his fame to persuade Sakura Publishing into thinking he would be a decent, honest man and own up to his responsibilities.
Maybe there is no such thing as an honest actor?
For proof of the contract, this is the section in his contract which indicates his obligation to pay back the advance paid to him:

109. The author and Publisher hereby agree to the following provisions to the current contract, as expressly agreed upon by both parties signing this contract:

The author agrees to pay back the advance of $450 already given to the author at the signing of his previous contract within 7 days after August 1st, should the author fail to deliver a working manuscript. The previous contract is considered null and void upon signing of this new contract dated for April 25th, but author is held liable for providing a working manuscript which can be defined for purposes of this contract as a manuscript not less than 200 pages in which the author presents a clear and accurate fictional account of an actors life which is loosely based on the authors own experiences.

If anyone would like further proof of Jeremy London signing this contract and then not producing a working manuscript, Sakura Publishing will be more than happy to furnish copies of all emails and the signed contract Jeremy signed as evidence of his ripping off Sakura Publishing. Please if you intend to work with Jeremy London, you might be in for the same kind of problem. He is a liar and can not be trusted. Please be careful in dealing with him. That is my sole reason for putting this rip off report up about Jeremy London.
I don't want to see Jeremy London rip off anyone else ever again.
