I usually have a credit on my Macys bill. Recently, I had made a purchase of a perfumery, and earrings. I paid a partial amount, and then paid up the entire amount that was shown on the bill.in my next bill, instead of a zero balance, I was sent a bill for service charge, interest etc in the amount of approx 20 dollars. Before the Xmas season, I realised that my bill may be due, and I called up Macys, and was told that payment on my bill is due by the 20th of December, in the amount of approx. 20 dollars I went personally to Macys on the 20th after work at approxomately between 3 to 5 PM, and paid cash of ($25) an extra 5 dollars to cover any residual interest of a few days. As this was the last date of the bill being due, I breathed a sigh of relief that it was paid timely. Imagine my distress, when I received a bill for 42 dollars, which does not reflect the payment, and have been charged a late fee, and the last date for payment due has been changed from the 20th to the 18th of the month. This seems to be some juggling going on. My credit has been compromised.
When I went to pay my bill on the 20th of December, was served by an African American associate, and received a receipt, with my name and the amt. As paid, but I have misplaced my receipt due to the hectic holiday season. My Macys card was scanned, so there should be some reference to it. A few years ago, I received another bill of a different account, as my account had been split into two accounts. So I closed my account with Macys for some years. Now I feel that I should have stayed away from Macys altogether, as I am feeling an outrage, and distress.
