Access Travel Network
Consumer Report

On Dec. 14, I received a phone call from a man naming himself as Michael Williams who initially represented himself as working with RCI. He said they had corporations ready to utilize our 'getaway weeks' at the rate of $1200.00 per week if we were willing to sell any of the 12 we currently had, which would be expiring the end of this month. He said we'd have to activate them first before they could purchase them from us at the cost of $149.00 per week. He said that we would receive a cashier's check for $14,400.00 within 60-65 days after charging $1788.00 to our credit card for the 'activation fee' for all 12 'getaway weeks'. He said I would get the contract via email the same day (it came a day later) and that the sooner I e-signed that contract, the sooner I'd get my cashier's check.

He also said there was a 180-day money back guarantee and that they would give us a full refund within that period. HOWEVER, the contract says that once it is signed there is NO REFUND.

In fact the contract doesn't even resemble what Mr. Williams said over the telephone. There is an additonal fee of $717.00 listed on the contract that was never mentioned by Mr. Williams. The contract also does not guarantee that we will recieve any money, but only that they (not RCI, but Access Travel Network) will advertise our property and notify us to do the rest of the work of renting it out. The contract stipulates that they do NOT rent property and do NOT act as anything other than marketing and advertising.

Besides all those discrepancies, they spelled my husband's name incorrectly and even listed our timeshare property incorrectly. The location was incorrect (wrong city and even wrong state).

I did NOT e-sign the contract, but my husband began doing online research & that's how I found this site. I also filed a complaint with the Florida Attorney General's Office immediately, attaching supporting documents.

The credit card charge is still listed as pending, so I can't file a dispute yet, but as soon as it is no longer pending, I will be filing a dispute.

I did call both telephone numbers given to me by Mr. Williams & via the contract to cancel this contract & left messages. I also sent an email response to ATN telling them I will not be signing a contract that is 100% contradictory to what I was told on the telephone and demanded a full refund within 24 hours. We will see what they do next. I also informed them that I filed the complaint with the Florida Attorney General's Office and that I would be disputing the charge with my credit card company as well.
