I made a first-time purchase in mid November. Of course I read through the membership requirements and decided that I would join and manage what I did or did not want. At that time I declined the purchase for December and guess what? They charged my account for a December purchase. When I called to cancel my membership based on this deceit they said they couldn't reverse the charge, only apply it to a purchase.
If there is an option on the website to cancel membership, don't create this deceit of needing to call in and go through pure hell to actually speak to a representative. This is too bad, as it is a good site to order from outside of the membership trap.
