On 12/7 I went to the business stated above to purchase a mattress and box spring. The employee showed me a set situated in the far right corner of the store. The salesman offered the mattress at a discounted price; $399 versus $499, however, that was not the mattress they delivered.
I noticed the mattress was lighter than the one I purchased, but didn't say anything of it because I am and have been under a great deal of stess so I trusted the two gentleman. After they took the plastic off, the other guy rushed out of the door while the owner kept talking about everything under the sun. I told the owner that it didn't look like the mattress I purchased because it was more like a cloth material, he automatically changed the subject again, and then asked about the paperwork for the credit application. I immediately left the bedroom, got the paperwork, and we began talking about that. I again mentioned that the mattress didn't look like the same one, he kept talking about the paperwork, then said he had to leave, he said he was in a hurry to watch the fight, and continued talking about the credit application, then he left. It didn't dawn on me that he never addressed my question until after he left.
I have just relocated to Phoenix to help care for my Mother who will be treated at one of your medical facilities here. I told both the owner and salesman that, as well as that I was on a budget due to the sudden move. I have been under a great deal of stress and now this. I trusted them! When a person is new to an area, and one such as this, I would expect nothing but the best due to what I had heard about the ethical mentality in Arizona as well as what I had noticed on television. I didn't see this coming! They gave me a full sized mattress and box and not the one I paid for, this is more than unethical! They should not be able to conduct business at the expense of consumers! Our country is in an economic state for which cannot afford to support or condone fraud!
I called and asked them to make this right, either give me the money back so that I could get a descent mattress and box or bring the mattress and box I am suppose to have. I insisted that they contact me before I go back to work Monday, and if not I would have no alternative but to call in favors from my associates in the legal community. I also asked them to do the right thing, but that I was also disappointed.
I could have easily said I didn't receive either mattress or box spring since I never signed for anything, but integrity means a great deal to me, and dishonest I am not.
