I made a purchase on what appeared to be a legitimate site at the time - MyMallStyles.com - for a pair of Steve Madden sandals and paid via PayPal. I never received an email order confirmation. A couple of weeks later I received a small envelope from China that contained a rubber pencil. I went back to MyMallStyles.com - and the site is down (and continues to this day to not work). I go to PayPal to file a claim, and discover this purchase was a scam.instead of MyMallStyles.com, my payment went to some Chinese individual that I did not authorize named Zhao Cheng Luo. PayPal sided with Zhao Cheng Luo because this person "provided proof of shipping" a la a tracking number. The tracking number that the seller provided notes that the package was a LETTER. Obviously not a box containing a pair of shoes that I ordered and paid for. On top of that, I filed an appeal on Nov. 26 and never heard from them. I even noted in my appeal that there's plenty of evidence on sites like these showing this site is a scam. I can't believe PayPal isn't protecting buyers and allowing scams like this.
