Target - REstyle room essentials cushioned bath mat

I purchased a REstyle cushioned bath mat. I am wondering if this item is for safety or comfort. When it gets wet or has a little soap/shampoo on it the surface becomes very slippery. The mat itself stays in place but it becomes dangerously slick. I got it to protect myself from falling. Should this be an issue? Thank you
