Today 10-25-11 I patroned a Family Dollar Store on Ga hwy 85, store number 8468. After completing my purchase I exited the store and one of the employees came out behind me in a hurry (I thought I had forgotten something). The young lady said to me that the door beeped when I exited and it should not have and asked me to return to the store. The clerk reached for my bag and I gave it to her. The receipt was in the bag for my purchase. As I entered the store the door beeped again and she said you heard it beep right? I replied that yes I did hear it. Then she said come this way please and took me to a back room. Once back there I asked what are we doing back here? She said I did not want to do this in front of the other customers but I need you to empty your pockets. I complied, it should be noted here that I was clean shaven and in my daily security work uniform. I have never had such an experience at a Family Dollar store ever. It was the most humiliating experience Ive had to date. Of course she found nothing on me and I was free to go at that point. Ive been shopping at the Family Dollar store since I was a kid and have never been detained and searched. Lets just say I feel less than a valued customer right now.
