Deal dash is a complete and total SCAM! I must agree with prior posts regarding their deceptive and misleading practices. I recently began participating in Deal Dash auctions, after seeing them on Facebook. After spending a couple hundred dollars on purchasing bids, just to be able to participate in said "penny auctions" -I have been able to win, but the cost/s are exacerbating, and the customer service nearly non existant! The auctions continually "pause" due to maintenance and/or technical issues (as titled per DD) which often leads to incorrect/corrupt bid count. They advertise your opportunity to earn "free bids" but they are not truly free, and the bid clock that accumulates these said free bids runs apps. X8 actual time.
I finally received an item I spent over 100 bids on, a cute metallic gold handbag. DD stated its retail value to be 89.00. Imagine my disappointment when I opened the box, and the bag was (very literally) the cheapest made product I have ever purchased! Cheap, cheap, cheap! The gift cards I've managed to win are all late in arriving. Some had a delivery date of November 6 and still have not arrived. When I contact them regarding this, I get a mass generated apology email claiming their vendors are working long hours to better their site. After multiple complaints and emails to them referencing the overuse of my BidBuddy bids, the continual auction pausing, the misrepresentation of actual bids (causing me, several times, to lose an auction due to "0" bids when I actually had hundreds).
Bottom line, DD is a ripoff, a complete and total sham! I could/would not recommend their site to anyone, not even an individual I didn't like! Let's break this down; you have to purchase a bid package to participate (the least expensive is 36$ for 200 bids -but you'd better purchase at least 400 @ 68 if you plan to contend) then, you better believe if the item just went for 1.00 in another auction -it will go for 20.00 in the auction you decide to partake in. You need to place a gross amount of bids in your BidBuddy, and not even attempt to bid manually as if you do, the site will surely experience technical difficulties and allow another bidder to win the item regardless of whether or not you manage to get a bid placed. Babysit your BidBuddy though, because often times even when you have 200 bids there, it will misrepresent that fact and end in favor of another bidder.
So, you pay 35-79$ for bids. Then, IF you manage to win an auction, you pay for the item. So if you win an 89. Handbag -you paid for your bids, plus the amount the auction closed for, say 5.00. Chances are you used the majority of your bids winning the item so you end up paying near retail, anyway. Problem is, their retail prices are grossly exaggerated! And, I mean GROSSLY! The 89.00 bag I won would probably sell in an retail store for 10.00, if any retailer would carry such low quality a product. And check out their SRV on high ticket items. Video games that you can purchase anywhere for 15-20 show a retail of 60 on DD.
And forget about winning thse big ticket items! Unless you have unlimited bids, or can afford to purchase 8000 bids at 60cents a piece, you're throwing money away (you truly are anyway)! And, don't forget about their CS, I was finally able to get a response from my human... Their reply to my many complaints, auction issues, technical difficulties, BidBuddy errors, etc. Etc.; "We are truly sorry. Please let us know if you feel you were at an unfair advantage.". When you contact them again with a "Yes, I feel I have been made a disadvantage per your site, and it's issues" they then respond with yet another mass circulation with a generic apology!
My advice, plain and simple, STAY AWAY! Not a very ethical not professional business, and veryVERYvery shady business practices!!!
