NetZero, NetZero Broadband, NetZero Wireless Returns misrepresent product to induce sale, refuse to refund money on worthless product

I responded to a TV ad for NetZero Broadband, and it seemed like a good deal. I was charged $48 and change for a product. I received the product, only to discover that the product did not work. I called their tech support and found it was because they don't have any service in my area, which they specifically told me they had checked and they did. The tech support person told me he could not believe they had sold me the product knowing it would not work.

When I contacted them about a refund, at first they refused, then they finally offered to refund the cost of the product only, not the $26 shipping charges I incurred for both ways, charges that are only there because they lied and misrepresented their product in order to make a sale. I have contacted both the BBB in their area, and the Federal Trade Commission (877-392-4357, if anyone is interested). This may seem like a small amount, but I'm sure I'm not the only one they have pulled this crap on, and it could add up to a tidy sum if people continue to "write it off" because of the fairly small amount of money involved. They probably count on this.
