I have had trouble with Florida Cable for about 7 years, when I first bought their internet service. No matter what speed I purchase, FC doesn't consistently provide anywhere near that speed, often even providing 500 or fewer kbps for the 9000 kbps service, for example. About half the time of our computer usage, the internet speed is so slow that we cannot watch a video due to incessant buffering, and it can take a few (anywhere from 1 to more than 5) minutes to download a page.
We have had FC personnel here many times. The problem is definitely not on our part, and I (usually) no longer allow them in our home because of the shoddy workmanship performed (a new larger-than-necessary cable hole that they made for some reason) and my belief that the repetitive visits are futile and are just delaying and/or perceived palliative tactics employed by them.
At one point they sent me a letter that was very unprofessional and insulting, implying that my complaints were illegitimate and unceremoniously suggesting that I take my business elsewhere. I would happily do so, if an alternative comparable service were available in my area.
Most of the time the company will not return my calls. When they do contact me, they repeat the same stale excuses (they've been having trouble with the "lines"; they are on the verge of finding the problem; the problem is not with them, but with their provider; there is no problem with our internet service; the problem is with the Apple router [by the way, when I contacted Apple about these allegations, they promptly called FC; whatever was said, FC hastily and permanently dropped that particular ostensible reason for my poor service], etc.).
I have records of many speed tests I have taken that I will cheerfully provide if you request them. I have in good faith tried to resolve this issue, but I believe that FC hasn't done the same, and that their service is so inadequate that it reaches the level of fraud. Help!!
