After selling an item I received payment through PayPal, the amount was $550, the reason I mention the amount is that I have used PayPal many times for payment but this was the largest transaction amount I have had. I received the payment and began using the funds, after I had spent over $300 of the payment money PayPal informed me that they thought the money had come from a fraudulent acct.
Now I have two questions here, one, I was not informed for three days that they were checking the accout that I received money from and two, I thought the reason for using PayPal was to be safe from ripoff? I did not send the item untl I received notice from PayPal that the funds were deposited into my account. Once the item was mailed I had no way of stopping it.
Now I am out the $550 that I lost on the purchase PLUS PayPal says I MUST pay them back the money I spent from MY account! They put a hold on my account so that I can not get my money out. I think this is THEIR problem NOT mine. They put the money in my account they should be responsible for the ripoff NOT ME! What am I paying them for? I thought it was so that I could complete sales quickly and safely. But as it turns out it was NEITHER! I would NEVER use them again. And wish I had read all the site on the web talking about what a rip-off they are and how unprofessional they are. What ever you do DO NOT US PAYPAL! And if you already have an account CANCEL IT before they take YOUR MONEY TOO!
