April 25 - I found the website www.cheaplicensekeys.com I purchased "Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Pro Product Activate CD Key Serial CODE Shipping Packages: COA Key Download link" for $29.50.
According to the site after payment the site would have re-directed me to a download link for the software in addition to providing me a serial number to install the program with. After payment with my visa, the re-direct started then stopped. I attempted to contact what is claimed to be the site's "live support" but quickly found out that it isnt live - its a message system.
I got an email from the website that provided me a link to my purchase - I clicked on the link and it said "payment failed"
I called my bank immediately and was advised by my bank that a payment had been posted for $29.57 from subnetgears.com (site not found). I questioned the 0.57 at which time the bank told me the cost had been adjusted for the exchange rate, from China.
I have contacted the site several times requesting clarification of the charges at my bank and why the site claimed my payment failed. Have emailed the site's email [email protected] several times, have contacted the "live support" and have not received any response what so-ever. Furthermore, the site claims it takes Paypal payment however, Visa is the only payment accepted.
