This message is to anyone who has had their identity stolen and used to purchase items at Newegg.com. The company does not have a law enforcement contact so that your case can be investigated. I am a detective in PA who is currently working on a case where three victims from PA have had their credit card numbers stolen/skimmed and used illegally to order items through Newegg.
Each time I request to speak to someone in LP I get the same response "We can't give you a contact, we can only take your name and have someone call you back." I have done this three times during the past 30 days and have never received a call back from them. They can confirm that an order was placed, but won't tell me where the illegal purchase was shipped to.
So, if you are a victim of ID theft, good luck getting Newegg to assist the police in catching the suspect. If you are a "suspect" in the case, continue to use them because they will protect you. If you are Newegg and you are reading this, I have faxed you, called you, and documented each person that I talked to.
