Today I got a call from an automated phone system - telling me that my business listing is going to be delisted unless I go to searchenginestartup.com to put in my promo code. Another one of those local directory companies lying to the public saying they either work with Google, for Google, or are your answer to all your online problems.
I don't have a problem with local SEO - I know it works. What I do have a problem with is contacting businesses and lying about your association with search engines. And - of course when you go to their website it doesn't say who they are, have any kind of contact info, and is registered blindly.
Don't give a business like this your hard earned money.
