I am a loyal Walmart customer and have been one for years. When I saw the CD in their store for "$9.95 Internet Service" I believed the package advertising " Finally affordable Internet service for the family".
I spent weeks at a time just trying to log on to the service, oh yeah; they had 'local access numbers' that were always having problems connecting, service unavailable messages, there may be a problem with your etc., etc., etc.
The first time we actually got logged on up comes this pop-up window for a porn site called "Morpheus XXX" with a graphic picture of a naked woman's torso on a thumbnail picture. Turns out this thing is like viral. It attached itself to my start up menu (naked torso and all), placed an icon (same naked torso) on my desktop; and wouldn't go away. Every time we got rid of it if we logged on to the internet it would come right back.
When we finally could get on we were constantly getting kicked off. My kids homework assignments were interrupted so consisitantly we gave up and went to the Library to use their computors.
I tried to get in touch with someone at walmart connect and got "stonewalled". When I got no response and tried to cancel my account per their instructions the "stonewalling" got worse. I E-mailed, I called their toll-free customer support number and after wading through ten minutes of recorded instructions, none of which included an option to talk to a human being; I was literally on hold for 40 minutes. (Yes I timed it).
I sent them a final E-mail cancelling my service. Six months later they were still taking money out of my bank account.
