Great Expectations
Ripoff

Last year after doing hospice for my ex-husband who passed away on 08/11/03 I decided to try a dating service and received an advertisement that popped up on my screen.

I was contacted by a sympathetic sales representative who told me how great their service was. I made an appointment on 09/05/03 and went to the intitial interview and signed-up for the service. You are promised the services once you sign up but cannot try the service until you have a video and picture taken. It took two weeks for that to happen.

The day I had my picture taken and I hated them. I tried their service that day and nothing worked and then I found out you cannot view other members profiles unless you travel to that city or county. Some of the links were broken and the videos do not work online. You must visit each center and each center only has a few members. I emailed the manager promptly the day after I was able to try the service and I was told I could not cancel because of the clause in the contract. I was not given the services until 09/14/03.

I am ashamed to state I paid $3995 for the service and was charge $54.12 for pictures I hated. I also am still disputing with my credit union to reverse the charges. It appears as Great Expectations has been using my sign-on and password to prove that I was using their service. This is totally false!

Do not waste your time with their service. It is a rip off!
