I cancelled a monthly subscription service with emusic.com about 6 months ago. I was being charged 19.99 per month. Suddenly a charge for $6.49 shows up on my credit card — a new credit card # and expiration date. I logged into the service (and they welcome me back after being inactive so long with an offer of a free month). Under the billing history, it shows they "converted" me from not being a subscriber to paying $6.49 per month!
I called emusic.com and the girl said that I hadn't cancelled my service: they had just not been able to get authorization on my credit card. (A complete lie). Suddenly the charge for $6.49 was approved. She said she would cancel the service but would not refund the $6.49. I contacted my credit card company.
They need to be stopped. I have saved documentation if anyone is pursuing a class action lawsuit.
