Very Slow AT&T DSL review - AT&T High Speed Elite DSL

I join in with the hundreds of others who have been subjected to continued degradation in their AT&T Internet speeds. My speeds, with the exception of maybe two hours each day (early morning) are less than 1/2 the advertised slowest speed (I have high speed Internet Elite, with a guaranteed range of (3.1 to 6.0 MBPS download). My average speed has been between 1.2 and 2.1 MBPS for the past month or more. After a technician was scheduled to look into the problem, the appointment was canceled and I was give the opportunity to speak directly with a human. I was told this is a congested router problem, given a 12-month 25% reduction in charges, and told it could be weeks or months before the problem is corrected. The problem is they keep offering new customers $15 a month DSL and my speed is no different than their speed and I pay $40 per month. AT&T has greatly overextended themselves and there is no attempt to resolve the problem since they keep adding too many new customers without upgrading routers and other necessary equipment.
