AOL Stole $509.28 from my Bank account on 1/12/04. I contacted them immediately to find out what in the world was going on. They informed me that I signed up for some plan that gave me unlimted aol from my cable modem but if I used a dial up access I was charged $3 per hour. I NEVER signed up for any such plan.
I have no idea what they are talking about. I have a cable modem in my home why would I ever use a dial-up connection. AOL has agreed to give me back the $509.28 after I contacted a lawyer.
However to this point because of their mistake they have cause me $192.00 in overdraft fees from the bank. They are refusing to reimburse me for these because "it is not AOL's responsibility to refund money they did not collect." Hello your company did this to me. How is it not your problem.
I have spoken with 22 different people at AOL everyone tells me something different. They claim that they have made a refund of $509.28 on the 14th of Jan. However today is the 20th and nothing is in my bank account. Matter of fact it is $540.21 overdrawn.
I have spoken with a lawyer and I for one will not allow aol to treat me this way. I urge all of you out there who have had similar treatment to seek legal cousel if you can. I work too hard for my money for somebody to steal it!!
