America's Webmall
Freedom Online, Webtech Strategies I was the voice on the phone - and I'm sorry

A few months ago I was in desperate need of employment. As a single mother in this economy, I had to jump on the first offer I received to ensure my child was supported. A girl on the streets offered me a job at her place of employment, telling me it was a "web sales" company that pays $7.50 an hour or commission, whichever is greater at the end of each week.

I got the job, too easily, and was trained to sell websites.in defense of the other idiots that work there, the managers DO try to brainwash the employees. We were handed a script to memorize, and the "business opportunities" I was trying to sell were never truly explained to any of us. We were taughtto overload clients with useless babble, without any real information, and that if a customer on the phone had too many questions, to get a manager to take over the call to seal the deal. I firmly believe thatthis is because if the employees knew how badly we were scamming people, they wouldn't have any employees left at all.

America's Webmall (formerly Freedom Online) works with Webtech Strategies as one of the most disgusting scams I have ever seen. Does this sound familiar?"Hey, (first name)? Your name came across my desk today, I hear you're looking to make some extra money from home! Have you found something that's working for you yet, or are you still interested?"

That's the dreaded icebreaker that makes most sensible people hang up. A few others will curse and yell, and then hang up, but there are the slim few that actually listen to the pitch.

Here's how it works, in a nutshell:

It was my job to call people, thousands of names a day (by the way if you've been called, they have your first and last name, full street address, and at least one phone number) and sell them a $200-$650 "Business Investment" (websites) that is completely doomed to fail unless you've got about $25,000 a month to put into advertising.

However, I've read reports from people who HAVE put in thousands of dollars each month to "advertise", and they haven't gotten a single check, most of them haven't even been contacted by their "business advisors" unless they're asking for MORE money.

What none of the managers tell you, (employees OR clients) is that once you make that sale, you've RUINED somebody's life. I only made ONE sale my entire two weeks working there, and quit the next day after I realized I had completely wrecked that poor lady's finances. It was only after I had made a sale that I began questioning why we weren't supposed to know the details of what we were selling, and why we have to get a manager to close the deal if someone's asking too many questions.

America's Webmall has gone by many different names, and theirofficial website has already closed down. They've already packed up and moved again, and I'm sure they'll resurface as soon as the coast is clear.

I feel absolutely disgusted that I contributed to their evil, and if there are any victims of this scam reading this, I truly am very, very sorry. I would love to help close this company down FOR GOOD... But as I've said, they've already packed up and left.
