Brother makes several printers, copiers, etc. That will not let you print in black/white (default printer to black/white). Their printers have have 4 different colored cartridges for each printer, if "just one of"the colored cartridges are low, the printer will not work.in other words, this printer does not let you use a black/white printer default. I won't even give this printer to the Goodwill - that is how junky it is.
