In August I asked for a free credit report form www.consumerinfo.com. I do not remember receiving the credit report. I canceled this account within 30 days.
Yesterday, December 4, CIC Credit Monitoring charged my bank account for $79.95 without any notice.in calling CIC Credit Monitoring, they said that their company had absolutely no record of making any charge on my accounts. They wanted my social security number, my mother's maiden name and my credit card numbers, They also requested the same information on my wife. To further research the problem they wanted a copy of the bill which the never sent... They also asked for a copy of my bank's electronic transaction record. (my bank said this would give them the routing numbers to be able to access my account and drain it anytime they chose...)
When I asked to be connected to a supervisor, he was, of course on another call, and therefore unavailable. A second call resulted in the additional information that their sister company, Credit Express, AKA National Scores, PO Box 1909 Orange, CA, often bills through CIC Credit Monitoring. Please Note: I had never heard of either Credit Express or National Scores. A call to Credit Express: 800-787-6864, resulted in the information that National Scores has the record of the account and billed my account $79.95. They SAID that they would refund the charge and close my account.
