Upon subscribing to AOL dial-up internet service trial, I was offered a free 3 month trial of AOL Autovantage membership. I was told I would receive the package in the mail explaining the service for a low start-up fee. As the AOL service was never functional after hours of trying with their technical support, I cancelled the whole thing the next day and got a confirmation number. I tried to cancel the Autovantage at the same time at the telephone number they gave me but was informed I was not even registered as it was too soon. Two weeks later, no information package had been received but a payment was taken on my credit card. Calling AOL and Autovantage produced nothing except telling me to wait and call a few weeks later. Autovantage would not get me a cancellation number as I was never a member according to them but I still have the payment on my credit card.
