AOL cheated us out of over $100.00, We signed up for the free trial and got 4 months more free when we called in to cancel.
We have a cable modem so we switched to the broadband account BIG Mistake, Aol charges you per minute if you access the account through a modem again, my daughter's computer doesn't have broadband yet! Charges for phone is still being looked into, so far it's $18.00
Second RIPOFF $85.00 through AOL AutoVantage, called asked me if I wanted to sign up for free autovantage for 2 months and sign up for the free months if I came back again along with a list of several other free services, I said NO, then she said we'll give you a free organizer and just cancel after the 2 mths, after 2 wks no organizer and me being the "get anything for free" person called and said "hey, where's my organizer?", and they said "We have no record of anyone contacting you I didn't have the confirmation number (always keep this).
I freaked cause I gave the person on the phone my credit card # (I know, I know), so I closed out my credit card and applied for a new one and guess who has been trying to get the money from that acct. AOL!
AutoVantage cancelled the service, person was very nice on the phone offered to return the $85.00 but it was never paid to aol so I told her that. I am honest if nothing else.
Now I wait to see what happens!
