Misleading Scam

On or about April 07, I was drawn into single mom work at home advertisement. I was under the impression I was signing up for additional information about a Make Money From Home program when I agreed to $2.97 by giving my credit card number.

Without telling you anything about the company or how it will work, you are guided to another page in an attempt to sign you up for credit card processing. I put a stop to that immediately. I didnt answer any of the questions or give any of the information they wanted. I left the website assuming that had ended everything.

Today, when I went online and looked at my April credit card statement, I find ICM Websites had made an additional charge of $139.95 to my card.in an attempt to find out more about the company, I instead find many complaints on the web which paint a picture of a scam that arrogantly and fearlessly continues.

I tried on several occasions to reach this company at: 1-877-863-3088, but was left on hold with music for too long. I then called my credit cards fraud department on April, 12. The person at the fraud department knew exactly who and what I was talking about. The many other reports of this scam had made him well aware of the problem. My credit card company got someone with ICM Website on the telephone, (apparently the company answered my credit cards fraud department quickly). The person at ICM Websites indicated they were not going to refund my card the $139.95.

You dont have to be a rocket scientist to come to the conclusion that this particular operation is designed to scam people who are in these hard times desperately looking for a way to make a living. This fact is evidenced by the large volume of complaints, all with the same story. You get absolutely nothing for your $139.95 and apparently the Californias State Attorney General is willing to allow it to continue. The BBB is inundated by fraud and the District Attorney has a heavy load.

These sorts of scams are made known, but little is done unless the people take it upon themselves to act. My letters are going out to the Attorney General with copies to the BBB and the District Attorneys office and to my local Attorney General.
