Refund of postage for double orde

I placed an order for a cd collection Pop Memories 60's. When I started to place my order, I had given my CC information. This was all automated and they kept prompting me for "other offers" during this whole placement. Then I got a message "System error. Please try your call later" and I was disconnected. I then replaced the order and continued on with how I wanted to be billed. I selected a one time charge of $149.95. Again, the automated system kept prompting you for "other offers' which I kept hitting o for no. Within the week I saw my debit card charged for $29.99 and also $149.95 for 2 orders. I called customer service who told me that once I give my CC #; the order is placed. I told him about the "system error and try your call later". Is this a confirmation on Time Life's part? He said to send the duplicate back with insurance and delivery confirmation. I did that. I then sent a copy of my postage that I incurred for this expense $12.45 and that I needed to be reimbursed as it was not my fault that 2 orders went out. Today I called Time Life and spoke to Nancy who said return postage is not applied (policy). I asked to speak to a supervisor (Frank) who kept telling me refund postage is not applied. I told him this was not my fault and the "system error. Try your call later" was not a confirmation of the order. He said he would give me a 10% credit on a future order. I cannot do business with this type of company. I want my postage back.
