I took notes as I talked with this company and still have my info pack and my copies of stuff they sent and stuff I mailed to them.
I day was interrupted one Wednesday morning on 3-17-10 about a great internet turnkey opportunity. A great sounding and friendly, Mr. Greg A. (in his 45-50's), with a non answering phone #1-877-230-5180, in his great sounding announcer / radio host, wanted to let me know about a great home based business.
I told him I was already working in a business and he told me he had tried home based businesses but this was the best he had come across. He kept up with the selling process and reading his script for me the whole call. I kept asking him questions. Trying to catch him and see if this was a scam or not. I was as thorough as I could be that day at least but not enough now I see. I should've said NO! Very politely and hung up. Greg A. Was a "really great guy" though. I told him my brother's name is Greg. He liked that.
Me: Why the $ amount they were asking? Greg A.: "Just $99.00! A one time fee and you won't be charged anything else, Ever!" "You'll have a lifetime business for you and your family and you'll be able to pass it to them!" I think he might have added that I could sell this site too, but I might be wrong.
Me: What do I get? Greg A.: "You get 64 stores and new stores being added all the time! We have Walmart, Petsmart and newly added Avon stores!"
"This is a fast growing internet service and you don't want to miss out. I won't be able to call you back and you might not be able to get in on this great opportunity!" (that's the jist of it.).
Me: Shipping and Handling charges? Greg A.: "Just $10.00 Shipping and $5.00 Handling for a Grand Total of $114.00! That's and awsome price don't you think? (the jist again.) C'mon, Greg A. Had to sell me didn't he?
He also used my name about 500, oh maybe 550 times! He had to make it personal, huh?
Me: What's your phone number there? Greg A.: "My number here, (my name) is 1-877-230-5180. You can call from 10 am - 9pm. My supervisor Charles may be on this call later to check on me." I think the days were Mon.-Fri.
We talked about where we grew up and what he's doing now. I think he said he was a christian or had some faith. He was from Ohio too, I believe.
He could've been humoring me with his tales. We discussed a bit more and I dragged my feet awhile but I stupidly and finally gave in and paid for this crap site with my CC.
Greg A. Told me I could hang up and call right back and prove that the number he gave me was real but I chose not to do this. It ain't working now 3 weeks later. He told me that a "Melanie" or a "Desirae" Ad Conslutants, would call me in a few days and help me with my site setup and any ad questions.
Greg A.:"Congratulations on your new business!" After I was suckered.
Greg A.: "Now before Melanie or Desirae calls you please be working on a name for your site, some examples... (My name, possesive) Greatest Shopping Mall and other's. I did this and felt silly. I have a long list I wrote on the 22nd of March.
I did say one last thing to my "new great guy" before I got off the phone...
I said, "Greg this isn't a scam is it? I'm not gonna want to punch you in the nose if I ever see you if this doesn't work out, will I?"
Greg A.: (laughing) No, no, (my name again) we are reputatable and you're going to love this business! Work on those names and someone will get in touch with you soon!" (jist of his bull.) I told hom that I was kidding and I'm not violent like that.
Greg A.:"Ha ha, Yeah, sure, that's okay. You wouldn't do that, Haha!"
I finished with, "Hey thanks for the info, I'll work on those names and if I don't see you in this life have a good life!" Greg A. Thanked me and we hung up.
Greg A. Really past himself off as a great salesman and honest person really wanting me to be successful at this internet business. It's amazing how good he was/is!
Everytime I have called the "Customer Service Number": 1-800-248-4445, I have been put off and treated rudely and impatiently when I've asked the questions my mailed documents have told me to ask.
Their timezone is different than mine but they said that they'd call me back everytime I called them but no return calls. I've called about 6 times and talked with someone 3 times and left messages the other times.
Greg A. Won't even answer his phone when I call. Must be scamming somebody else and no time to click over.
I got a not bad but not great looking, 12 pg. Color cover, black and white text pages booklet in the mail which congratulated me again on my "new incredible business".inside were instructions on how to get into my "Back Office" it's called to change anything on my cool web mallsite. I'm now a TIS website owner. I was wished the best of luck with my new business on page 1. I was advised to "don't put off getting started and to seize this opportunity today and start building my customer base." "You have an amazing business...": Don't take this opportunity for granted." That's page 2. On and on it goes.
I read that if I had any question I could call them and be walked through the setup steps. NOTHING!
I got a description of payment and services printout and a W-9 Taxpayer document. I filled them out. My S.S. I! Is on the W-9 document! AAAARRRGGGHHHH!
I copied them then mailed the originals to the company.
I called and actually spoke with one lady and asked about the tax paper and she told me it was just for "tax purposes" for them and my business. These were signed and mailed on the 23rd of March.
I am always told that someone will get back with me but no one does, EVER!
I'm not able to finish the requirements that they set up in the booklet they sent me and my complaints are ignored. The internet contact page that let's you enter your email, name phone number and complaint, fails each time I try to send it! Hmmm, I wonder why that is?
Faking people and company! How can they do this and get away with it.
We all need "The Equalizer" to get on the job for us and get our money back and protect our identities! I pray to God that their computers get viruses that destory all their info and systems.
Anyone see Sandra Bullock in "The Net"? We can only pray and that is all we need!
