The best way to do this is to say this - I was contacted earlier this year by this company. They went into spill about internet marketing and mentoring. At no point did they say company name - Red Light #1.
Red Light #2 - too much pressure to make an immediate decision right away and to use a credit card which is instant payment to them, dispute hassle for me if I'm not satisfied. You should also do some kind of background check on a business!
Red Light #3 - company name provided was Consolidated Marketing Group (CMG). Found nothing for a CMG related to this type business. IWorks is affiliated with CMG of DBA as CMG.
Red Light #4 - the way the rep explains the plan is a deceptive. You have to really listen, think, and take the time to think some more, to realize that all they are selling is information. You do the work, You make the contacts, You market the product/service. They may provide some contacts & the tools for web site setup & hosting, but I don't think it is worth $5000.
I decided not to pursue so I can't say 100% whether it is a ripoff or not. BTW, the feedback from the ex-employee has all the tell-tale signs of being written by IWorks management.
