I cancelled Internet Service after having it for 20 days. This cancellation was effective on July 28 and I received a cancellation number from Wal-Mart at that time.
The experience was very bad and the person was insulting and belligerent. However he finally gave me this cancellation number after I insisted on some means to show that I had cancelled.
However I found that Wal-Mart did not acknowledge the cancellation and charged my bank account for $9.95 for two months; both August and September.
I have been unable to make contact with anyone at Wal-Mart and get my monies back.
I believe this is a normal scheme by this company and that they probably acquire a lot of money by this method of theft.
When I call the number supplied 1-888-855-XXXX I get India and the person that answers gives a false name and then proceed to ask for all sorts of useless information and will not listen to any complaint unless and until I supply an answer to all the useless questions.
They also state that the questions are to prove that I am the party that has access to the internet connection, that they, Wal-Mart must protect themselves because someone else might be trying to close the account. I have not been able to get any valid response from these Indian people in India.
I cannot get in contact with Wal-Mart USA. I cannot get my monies back and will probably have to resort to small claims court.
