Wix, the way the web was meant to be, www.wix.com, forum. Wix.com wix, lies, beta fees, no support, bad product, faulty product, lies about product

I recently designed and published a flash-based website using wix.com's editor for a local business. I connected the purchased domain name to the site. It works, and that's all fine and dandy, but...

Wix promises that the sites are SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Friendly. It's been 3 months and even after adding the domain name to google, (http://www.google.com/addurl/) It's not even showing up on any page of results.

Also, I have requested a source code (http://en. Wikipedia.org/wiki/Source_code) multiple times and have yet to receive the code due to the claim by the Avishai Abrahami, the CEO that "When you create a Wix website you create an XML document, the Wix viewer loads the XML document and renders the website, Wix does not create an SWF for your website, all Wix sites are using the same one SWF but loading different XML document.

In simpler terms, there is no source code that you can look into and fix it or change it."

The problem lies in this— SWF files/websites are part of the whole site of wix.com... A user creates a profile and that makes "www.wix.com/username" after which he/she creates a site (XML Document) and it becomes "www.wix.com/username/usersite".

What wix has done is incorporated an editor (or really, a multifunction; advanced form submit function— similar to Myspace's comment's) that allows "users" to basically only ADD pages to wix's OWN website— and paying to not have embedded advertisements.

A website URL "http://en. Wikipedia.org/wiki/Wix.com" is structured like this:

Http://=This part is the protocol. Http is the hypertext transfer protocol, and is the standard for transmitting webpages over the internet.

En=This is called a subdomain of wikipedia. It represents another section of the site.

Wikipedia.org=This would be this URL's hostname, or more commonly known, domain name.

Wiki=This is a folder located in the root level directory of the website.

Wix.com=This is a file located in the folder previously mentioned.

So, after explaining this, wix is only adding to their own site by allowing users to create and upload their own folders and files. Not giving them their OWN website.

Which the one I've created is not SEO friendly and was one of the major reasons I used this site to create a website for the local business...

Other problems...

Wix pulled a Bait and Switch with a feature of the new editor where they never once mentioned that it would cost more, and when it was released anyone who wanted to use it, needed to either upgrade, or pay more for the upgrade they have.

They're in a current situation where there is an anticipatory breach of informing the users for months about the up and coming HTML editor, and are tempting everyone to stay so they can use it, and have now hinted at a fee based system that will not allow people to use it without first paying.

HTML is BASIC website design knowledge and to be able to use it, I fear that Wix will not only charge for, but from test versions, not be able to incorporate it at a fundamental level... Leaving any user with a faulty product.

There is also a very drastic LACK of support for the site. The moderators and wix staff have a language barrier that is borderline unacceptable and make no attempt to hire more staff based on claims of "it costs money".

I know for a fact that last October, wix received a second ammount of funding from their sponsors; $3.5 Million which was to go toward product design and marketing, and so far many users have only seen marketing. Everywhere.
