I work at a law office our DCF-8065DN printer & copier said "Toner Life End". I ordered a toner cartridge. When I received it I installed it just as it said in the manual. Still said "Toner Life End". I called three times one of those times was with Anna on the tech side she was supposedly the supervisor. I told her again about my problem. I explained that all I did was reinstall a new toner cartridge as it said to do in the manual and per her employees on tech side. I went through it several times on how to install the toner cartridge. They even faxed me the information on how to install. Same info as the manual. I told her none of this worked. I again asked for a reset code for the machine. She swore up and down that there was no reset code for this specific machine but that other machines did have a reset code. She explained to me I needed to buy a new toner cartridge from them or have a Brother service repair man come out and fix my machine. I said why should I have to pay for someone to come and fix my machine its not broken. She insisted they had no other options for me. So I got online and found a reset code for another machine and it said to use other combination's of numbers. Surprise it reset and the "Toner Life End" error message went away and my machine worked. When I called for help they asked me is this a new authorized Brother toner cartridge? The fact is every time I called that was their first question. Well every time in the past I always used the authorized Brother toner cartridge this time was however it was a Brother refill. So what I figure is they are making it so that you need to an authorized Brother toner cartridge or it will not work. Unless you use the reset code I found. Which they will not give you even though they know about it. They are doing this to stop ink cartridge refill companies from competing. They are doing this to completely cut out any competition. Which would fall under the Antitrust Laws. I called today and spoke to a supervisor named Wayne on tech side again I let him know the situation he even admitted it was wrong that they knew about the code and they were not allowed to give it out.
