I was lucky - I guess - in that I never got to actually start working for this fraud. But she "hired" me through a craigslist.com ad and when I contacted her, she went on and on about how she was a retired English teacher who had done so much government work in ISD and fulfilled hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of contracts. So it sounded pretty good. She was looking for ISD contractors to work on a major project. She sent all paperwork, contracts for me to copy, sign, and send back via Fed Ex. The pay sounded wonderful and I was very excited to begin.
After spending an inordinate amount of time reading the contracts, making copies, signing, and then spending money to Fed Ex back to her, I waited a few days to see if she would call me to confirm receipt. I never heard from her, so I started emailing her, calling her and leaving messages - she never returned an email, never returned a message.
This went on for about a month. It was already clear that the lady had some issues, because who runs a business like that? But at that point I was just annoyed that I had wasted my time with what appeared to be either a mentally unstable broad or a psycho who now had my personal information in her possession.
It's been a year for me, and on a whim, I decided to search for her name on the internet and I find other complaints online. So that's why I say I was lucky that I didn't get to do any work because I can't imagine how I would feel if I was owed money.
I just want to warn any other people who might come in contact with her for any business transaction — don't trust her! She is very deceptive and strange and not to be trusted! Clearly, from the other reports, she doesn't like to pay what she promises, so steer clear of this woman!
